These Häagen-Dazs ice creams potentially contain a carcinogenic pesticide!

Traces of ethylene oxide, a carcinogenic pesticide banned in Europe, have been found in tubs of ice cream sold in many stores. Therefore, several Häagen-Dazs brand products are subject to recall.
The US group General Mills has just announced the voluntary recall of four batches of its Häagen-Dazs brand vanilla ice cream. The reason? The presence of ethylene oxide (ETO), a carcinogenic pesticide banned in Europe. These traces of ETO "can be attributed to an ingredient (vanilla extract) supplied by one of our suppliers. The residual presence of ETO slightly exceeds the analytical detection thresholds," details the group.
Therefore, the following products are subject to an immediate recall:
460 ml vanilla ice cream
650 ml vanilla ice cream
95 ml vanilla ice cream
All these products are marketed between November 2, 2021 and July 6, 2022 in numerous stores, their minimum duration date is extended until May 21, 2023.
"This voluntary recall only affects the flavors listed above. This is not about any other Häagen-Dazs brand flavors," Rappel Conso specifies.
They advise that if any of these products is in your freezer, do not consume it and throw it away in the household waste.
"We do not use ETO in our products, and they comply with all food safety regulations and strict standards in all markets where we operate," insists General Mills, which apologizes to consumers for the "inconvenience caused by this recall."
The group suggests that affected consumers contact their customer service for a refund.
