Upon resumption after side effects that occurred in volunteers, a new volunteer developed side effects to the possible vaccine.

The volunteer, who is experiencing the side effects of the possible corona vaccine from AstraZeneca and the University of Oxford, suffers from myelitis, a rare disease in which the spinal cord is inflamed. Pascal Soriot, CEO of AstraZeneca, said this during a private conference call with three investors. Information reported by the scientific news site STAT.

This is a woman from the UK with neurological symptoms indicating myelitis, a rare and painful disease. The company has stressed that this disease has nothing to do with the vaccine.

AstraZenecas board, which monitors data from clinical trials, confirms that the woman received the Covid-19 vaccine and not a placebo, the CEO reported. It also confirmed that clinical trials were stopped in July after a participant exhibited neurological symptoms. Further investigation revealed that the subject had multiple sclerosis, which was not associated with the Covid-19 vaccine.

According to one of the investors who participated in the interview, Mr. Soriot wanted to assure them that the company takes vaccine safety seriously and also wanted to limit the damage to the value of the companys shares. "A vaccine that nobody wants to take is not very helpful," Soriot said.

AstraZeneca itself is very uninformed at the moment. The company has not yet publicly confirmed that this is the second time the project has been suspended to investigate the health concerns of the participants.
