Shoes: 5 mistakes to avoid

Our feet are a part of our body that we tend to neglect and abuse. The way we choose and wear our shoes is directly related to your health.

However, the feet are the foundation of our skeleton, they support us, and can cause a lot of problems when not cared for well in the long run. It is time to stop mistakes and put your feet up.

Mistake # 1: wearing too high heels

Too high heels push the foot forward, putting a lot of pressure on the toes. While wearing them, your legs should also compensate for you to help you walk. This increases the risk of developing painful conditions such as plantar fasciitis, bunions, and heel spurs.

Limit yourself to a few centimeters of heel to avoid pain and respect its morphology as much as possible: 3.5 to 4 cm for women and 1.5 to 2 cm for men. Stiletto heels should be avoided on a daily basis.

Mistake # 2: wearing the same pair nonstop

If youve ever "fallen in love" with a pair of shoes, you know the need to wear them all the time. But it is not a good idea. Wearing the same shoes every day indicates that you are constantly using the same parts of your foot for support and walking. Try to find other pairs of comfortable shoes and vary them throughout the week.

Mistake # 3: wearing shoes that are too old

When shoes are old and worn, they can tilt the foot and cause pain that reaches the hips and back. Consider changing your athletic shoes every six months.

Leather, the ideal material. The soft and breathable leather allows a good heat exchange and, unlike the synthetic, prevents the foot from macerating. Also, a leather shoe provides good support.

Periodically check the soles of other types of shoes. To properly support the foot, they must be semi-rigid. With a sole that is too stiff, the foot, ankle and knee take harder hits. Therefore, the pain can appear even in the back.

Mistake # 4: wearing shoes that are too flat

Ballerinas, flat shoes, and flip-flops do not provide good arch support, which can be risky if you start to step forward. If you tend to wear these types of shoes when walking, you may develop bunions, claw toes, or sagging. In addition, a shoe that is too flat forces the Achilles tendon and plantar fascia to be pulled, with the risk of inflammation.

Mistake # 5: wearing the wrong shoes

Do you run in tennis or play tennis in running shoes? When it comes to exercise and sports, running shoes are not a one-size-fits-all solution. Each shoe has a specific technology. It can be designed, for example, for straight or lateral movements. Try to follow the shoe tips for each sport.

For the health of the feet, it is better to alternate high heels, low heels, open or closed shoes.
