After being questioned about the slowness in reacting to the coronavirus, Beijing declares that it is about the foreign origin of the coronavirus, pointing out that it could have been brought by the United States Army to Wuhan.

Zhao Lijian mentioned this theory on the well-known social network Twitter, posting a video of Robert Redfield, director of the American CDC, who indicates that people who died of influenza could actually die of the COVID-19 coronavirus.

"CDC Director Robert Redfield admitted some Americans who seemingly died from influenza were tested positive for novel #coronavirus in the posthumous diagnosis, during the House Oversight Committee Wednesday." This is what Zhao Lijian points out in the first part of his statement.

Following the statements of Zhao Lijian, Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang, stated that there are various hypotheses about the origin of the coronavirus. stating that "China always views this as a scientific matter, which must be addressed in a scientific and professional manner".

In the second part of his tweet he points out that "CDC was caught on the spot. When did patient zero begin in US? How many people are infected? What are the names of the hospitals? It might be US army who brought the epidemic to Wuhan. Be transparent! Make public your data! US owe us an explanation!"

Opening the controversy about the origin of the new strain of coronavirus COVID-19, the Chinese government has not declared whether this is an official statement.
